The National Guard is establishing the Integrated Primary Prevention Workforce (IPPW) in accordance with DoD Instruction 6400.09, the Secretary of Defense’s Independent Review Commission to End Sexual Assault in the Military, and the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022.
What is the purpose of the IPPW?
The IPPW develops strategies and implements research-informed primary prevention activities. Primary prevention activities increase protective factors and reduce risk factors for harm and abuse. The Workforce has personnel at three levels: Strategic (National Guard Bureau), Operational (Joint Force Headquarters or equivalent), Tactical (Brigades (BDE) and Wings (WG)).
