Airmen go on eclipse standby mission

SYRACUSE-- New York Air National Guard Col. John R. O'Connor, the commander of the 174th Attack Wing, speaks to wing members who are going on duty Monday, April 8, at Hancock Field Air National Guard Base in Syracuse, New York, to serve as a response force after the solar eclipse. The New York National Guard is positioning 150 Soldiers and Airmen, along with 36 vehicles across three locations to aid state or local authorities with any events surrounding the eclipse if asked, as well as a CH-47 Chinook helicopter and aircrew.
