69th Infantry Soldiers prepare for assault at Polk

FORT POLK--New York Army National Guard infantrymen assigned to Co. C 1st Battalion 69th Infantry based in New York City assault Objective Tarantula during a live fire training exercise at the Joint Readiness Training Center Ft. Polk La. July 25 2016.The live fire exercise is completed in three phases training exercise company exercise and live fire and challenges the commander to simultaneously complete two separate objectives while maintaining command and control of the battlefield. Approximately 3000 Soldiers from New York joined 2000 other state Army National Guard units active Army and Army Reserve troops as part of the 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team task force. The Soldiers are honing their skills and practicing integrating combat operations ranging from infantry troops engaging in close combat with an enemy to artillery and air strikes July 9-30 2016.
