Battle of the Bulge Memorialized

LATHAM--Allan Attwell, President of the Capital District Chapter of the Battle of the Bulge Veterans thanks Major General Patrick Murphy, the Adjutant General, for speaking to his group on Thursday, Dec. 16, the 66th anniversary of the start of that major World War II battle.
The Battle of the Bulge was the largest battle in the history of the U.S. Army and several New York National Guard units including the 258th, 991st, 186th and 187th and the 955th Field Artillery Battalions and the 801st and 802nd Tank Destroyer Battalions fought in the Ardennes Campaign in world War II. Mr. Attwell served as an infantryman with the 28th Infantry Division’s 109th Infantry Regiment.
