Homeland Security Meets Homefront Command

FORT HAMILTON, Brooklyn -- New York Army National Guard Maj. Charles Flood of the 24th Civil Support Team discusses the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High Explosive (CBRNE) detection and identification capabilities of the Civil Support Team with Maj. Gen. Yair Golan, at left, commander of the Israeli Defense Forces Homefront Command. The Homefront Command has similar responsibilities to the National Guard to support local emergency responders and civil authorities in response to natural disasters or other incidents to protect the public.
