Guard Exercises for Dirty Bomb Attack

COLONIE--Members of the New York National Guard's CERFP evacuation a victim from the site of a "dirty bomb" attack during a Defense Support to Civil Authorities exercise held Saturday, June 6, at the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control Training Site.
More than 400 members of the New York Army and Air National Guard, and the volunteer New York Guard, participated in the three-day training exercise which tested the ability of the National Guard to supply follow-on forces in the event of an attack
The CERFP, which stands for CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and enhanced-yeild Explosive) Enhanced Response Force Package is a force of National Guardsmen and New York Guard volunteers who are trained to operate in a hazardous environment.
The exercises paired New York's Urban Search and Rescue Team, New York Task Force-2, with the Guardsmen
