Guardsmen in The Hot Zone

Oriskany - Capt. Robert Miron and Staff Sgt. Brendan Dunfee move through the "Hot Zone", an abandoned aircraft hangar investigating for potential contamination during an exercise, Tuesday March 24 at the New York State Preparedness Training Center.

Miron and Dunfee are part of the New York National Guard?s Weapons of Mass Destruction 2nd Civil Support Team. The 2nd CST is composed of both Army and Air National Guard Soldiers based at Stratton Air Force Base in Scotia, NY.

The day long exercise was observed and evaluated by officials from U.S. Army North in preparation for the teams? 18-month inspection in November
