Mom Follows Son Into National Guard

SARATOGA SPRINGS--New York Army National Guard Specialist, Juanita Locke, age 37, and her son Specialist Jason Van Deusen, 19, stand outside the New York State Military History Museum.
Locke, a personnel specialist working in the Army National Guard's military personnel office, enlisted in the National Guard after her son, joined at age 17 in 2006.

She showed up at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, for Basic Training as he was finishing up Advanced Individual Training.

Van Dusen serves as personel specialist for Company C, 2nd Battalion 108th Infantry following a 2008 combat tour in Afghanistan.
