Luke Zeurcher of Mattydale, N.Y., of the New York Army National Guard’s 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team construct a sandtable as the unit prepares for the headquarters Combined Arms Rehearsal here Oct. 3. The brigade leadership and staff are preparing for their rotation at the National Training Center as part of the unit&rsquot;s upcoming mobilization and deployment to Afghanistan in early 2012. The exercise will include more than 2,000 Soldiers from the brigade, along with a battalion from the South Carolina Army National Guard, with a realistic, demanding training environment.
