LATHAM - The 42nd Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB) based in Latham said good bye to a long-time aviation officer, Col. Michael Bobeck (at left), who took command of the 42nd CAB on Sept. 13, 2008. He relinquished command to take an army tour at National Guard Bureau where he will over see operations of the National Guards fleet of fixed-wing aircraft.
Batavia, N.Y. area native, Col. Mark Stryker, who formerly commanded the 642nd Aviation Support Battalion, assumes command of the 42nd CAB.
At far right, Stryker conveys the Brigade colors to Command Sgt. Maj. Thomas Rentz, 42nd CAB Command Sergeant Major for safe keeping. The reviewing general officer was Brig. Gen. Steven Wickstrom, commander, 42nd Infantry Division (middle).
